Wed Oct 07: Thursday A cold start, perhaps even a touch of frost in the hills and glens, yet it will be mostly dry and fine thanks to a ridge of high pressure across the country. On the northerly wind expect a few scattered showers to affect some eastern coasts of England. Cloud quickly increases in Ireland with rain moving in through the morning. The rain will then continue to push across Scotland, northern England and Wales during the afternoon when the winds will also increase. The far south and southeast staying dry before eventually rain moves in late evening here. Highs at 11 to 15C.
