Wednesday A hot day as high pressure is centred over western areas of the British isles. Plenty of sunshine through the day for most areas. Always more cloud in the west of Scotland where there could be drizzle at times. Remaining hot throughout the afternoon with lengthy periods of sunshine for all but the far northwest of Scotland. Highs at 34C in southeast England, 27C in eastern Scotland and Ireland, 22C in western Scotland.
